Westfield London has established a new community grants initiative as part of its expansion plans for the centre. The community grants scheme, which launched in January 2016, supports local organisations looking for sponsorship of up to £1,000 with up to 30 projects being selected per year over the next two years.

The community grants scheme is designed to focus specifically on a diverse array of projects and individuals from the north of the borough, and aims to make a significant difference within our local neighbourhoods.

The Westfield community grants panel, led by representatives from local businesses, Westfield London, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, residents’ representatives and young people, meets twice annually to decide where funds will be directed based on bids received.

In August 2016, Westfield officially announced the eight successful applicants for the first round of the community grants scheme. The local organisations that were each awarded funding of up to £1000 to implement community projects include:

  • The Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre
  • Fulham Good Neighbours
  • The London Sports Trust
  • Lido Foundation
  • The Urban Partnership Group
  • The Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development
  • The Bhavan
  • Kensington Athletic AFC
