As part of its expansion, Westfield London launched a new community grants initiative in January 2016, which supports local organisations looking for sponsorship of up to £1,000 with 30 projects having been selected already.

The community grants scheme is designed to focus specifically on a diverse array of projects and individuals from the north of the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, and aims to make a significant difference within our local neighbourhoods.

The Westfield community grants panel is led by Westfield London, the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, and residents’ representatives.

To date, the local organisations that were each awarded funding of up to £1000 to implement community projects include:

  • The Hammersmith and Fulham Volunteer Centre
  • Fulham Good Neighbours
  • Wood Lane Community Centre
  • Lido Foundation
  • The Urban Partnership Group
  • The Foundation for Women’s Health Research and Development
  • The Bhavan
  • White City Enterprise
  • Switch Sports
  • HF Arts Fest
  • The Upper Room
  • White City Theatre Project
  • White City Youth Club
  • Yarrow
  • The Flying Gorillas

Duncan Bower, Director of Development at Westfield, said: “These projects will make a real difference to people living within our local neighbourhoods. It’s really important for us that our investment is felt throughout the area and we are pleased that our community grant initiative is delivering that.”

Councillor Sue Fennimore, Deputy Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham Council, said: “Westfield London has long been a major community hub and its expansion will bring even more benefits to the area including investment in infrastructure, skills and the public realm. These grants are part of Westfield’s wider efforts to support local people by providing funding for groups seeking £1,000 and I look forward to seeing the latest recipients bringing their exciting projects to fruition.”
