The Proposals
This consultation is only about the minor changes we are proposing to the approved plans. The main changes from the previously approved plans are:

Removing 2 buildings (Blocks 2 & 9).

Creating more green space, active commercial areas, and cycle space by removing large podiums.

Slightly increasing the height of the approved buildings (no increase in total homes).

Building Height Changes
To create a better public park with more sunlight, we are proposing to remove two previously approved buildings (Block 2 and Block 9). The homes from these buildings will be moved into the remaining blocks.
This means some buildings will be taller, while one will be shorter. The total number of homes across the site will not increase.

Delivering Genuinely Affordable Homes
Our approach focuses on enabling the delivery of the genuinely affordable homes that local people need. This is a crucial local issue, with almost 3,000 people on the council’s housing waiting list. In response to feedback from affordable housing providers, we are exploring the best way to organise the location of affordable housing within the scheme, to enable the long-term management and delivery of these homes for residents.
A More Sustainable Design
By removing large concrete podiums and basements at the base of three buildings, we can extend the public park, create more space for ground-floor commercial and retail uses, and lower the project’s carbon footprint.
